Bio: My name is Julie Kagti. I live in Mumbai, India with my husband Arvind and our two little ones, Jiya and Vir. I am a textile designer and over the past three years, between shifting home from Bangalore to Mumbai ( now we are going to be shifting back to Bangalore mid April) , raising the kids and taking on commissioned work, I have been busy researching, doing recces, meeting people and watching performances in a region that is very special to me. Driving past fabulous landscapes, trekking to see some gorgeous crafts and tasting different cuisines have their own rewards. I am Assamese and I believe the North east of India still has a purity to offer both in culture and it's natural beauty. Hence I started my venture CURTAIN CALL ADVENTURES, curated tours to the North East of India to share my knowledge with fellow travelers and enhance their experience. I also conduct tapestry weaving workshops on portable lap looms foradults. It is my contribution to promote awareness for the rich heritage and craft of weaving. I started writing my blog " the curtain call" to remember and record the different aspects of a way of life that is special to me and slowly fading with time, for my children and anyone else who is interested. I have always love old things - handcrafted textiles, heritage buildings, furniture, memories and the outdoors. I like to believe that my writing reflect this .
